Kent Honl is an Arborologist at Rainbow Treecare, and has been working at Rainbow since 1994. He found out about Rainbow through the yellow pages while looking for jobs in tree care. Rainbow was one of the only companies he found that cared about the science behind arboriculture. Kent started as a technical arborist and then moved into a sales arborist position for 15 years. From there, Tom Prosser came to him with an idea for a new role to help keep the science at the forefront of the company. This is where the Arborologist position started. Kent likes that Rainbow is committed to making a difference with arboriculture and that if you see a better way to do something, there is an opportunity to create a better future. “There was always a commitment to science and education that was there from the beginning.” Kent also speaks several foreign languages, and used to be a bread baker.
